Doing Our Bit: Sustainability at General Public

At General Public, we’re all about community, and that doesn’t stop at just sharing a good pizza or catching up over coffee. We’re passionate about doing our bit for the planet too. Sustainability isn’t just a trend to us, it’s a commitment to leaving our corner of the world better than we found it, for the next generation of GP locals.

This July, we’re rolling out three fun (and tasty) initiatives to help reduce waste, encourage mindful consumption, and spread the good vibes across our venues.

  1. Recycling Pizza Boxes – Made to Go the Distance: Our legendary sourdough pizza deserves packaging that’s just as thoughtful. We’re proud to launch our recyclable pizza boxes this month, meaning your takeaway now comes with a side of eco-consciousness. No more greasy guilt or landfill blues – just rinse, recycle, and repeat.
  2. Mug of the Week – BYO and Be Celebrated: Our new Mug of the Week spotlight celebrates customers who bring their own cup. Each week in July, we’ll pick one eco-conscious caffeine lover to win a cheeky treat on the house. Whether it’s a vintage travel mug or something your nan knitted a sleeve for, show it off, we’re here for it.
  3. Coffee With a Cause – Win a Pizza Masterclass!: Every time you bring in a keep cup this July, you’ll earn a stamp. Collect stamps and go into the draw to win a spot at our Pizza Masterclass! That’s hands-on dough stretching, pizza perfection, and a whole lot of fun, all for doing your bit for the planet.

Sustainability doesn’t have to be boring, it can be delicious, rewarding, and community-driven. Thanks for being part of the movement, one slice, sip, and smile at a time.

Beyond July – A Bigger Picture

While these are just our July initiatives, sustainability at General Public is an ongoing commitment. Behind the scenes, we’re constantly exploring better solutions, forming thoughtful partnerships, and looking for fresh opportunities that align with our sustainability pillar. Whether it’s reducing waste, supporting local suppliers, or championing community education, we’re always working to walk the talk. Because doing our bit doesn’t stop at one month. It’s part of who we are.
